Why Indian Summers Are Skin's Biggest Challenge
From March to June, much of India experiences temperature extremes that put skin under severe physiological stress. The combination of factors is uniquely damaging:
- UV Index of 8–11 (extreme) from 10am–4pm
- High humidity triggering excess oil and sweat production
- Sweat + sebum + pollution = a perfect recipe for clogged pores and heat rash
- Pool chlorine and beach salt dehydrating skin
- Air conditioning indoors causing rapid dehydration
The Complete Indian Summer Skin Protocol
Morning (Before Going Out)
- Cleanse: Neem Treasure Aloevera Pleasure — antibacterial to prevent sweat acne, aloe to hydrate
- Lightweight moisturiser: Gel-based, non-comedogenic (summer is not the time for heavy creams)
- SPF 50 PA++++: Non-negotiable. Apply 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every 2–3 hours.
- Antioxidant serum: Vitamin C to neutralise UV-generated free radicals
Midday (At Work / Outdoors)
- Blot oiliness with tissue — never apply more product onto sweaty skin
- Reapply SPF with setting spray SPF or SPF powder
- Stay hydrated — minimum 3L water in Indian summer heat
Evening (Post-Work / Evening)
- Double cleanse: Micellar water first to remove sunscreen, then Charcoal Detox Multani Rocks — to deep-clean sweat, oil, and pollution from the day
- Niacinamide serum: Controls oil, reduces enlarged pores, fades tan marks
- Light moisturiser: Don't skip even in summer — dehydrated skin overproduces oil
Summer-Specific Tips for Indian Skin
- Shower within 30 minutes of sweating heavily — sweat left on skin causes acne mechanica (sweat acne)
- Change pillowcases twice a week in summer
- Don't skip sunscreen on cloudy days — 80% of UV penetrates clouds
- Eat cooling foods: cucumber, coconut water, watermelon — anti-inflammatory from the inside
- Avoid using heavy face packs in summer — use lighter clay masks once a week only
